Description
Lone Star Quilt – Confident Beginner Quilting Class (3-Part Series)
The Lone Star Quilt is a striking, classic design that looks complex but is very achievable with the right techniques and guidance. In this three-part class series, students will learn how to create a beautiful Lone Star quilt using strip piecing and precision cutting—no Y-seams required.
Designed for confident beginners, this class focuses on accuracy, organisation, and building confidence when working with angled pieces. Students will be guided step-by-step through the construction process, with plenty of tips to help achieve sharp points and a well-balanced design.
The finished quilt measures approximately 74" x 84", making it a generous throw or bed-sized quilt. Fabric selection is flexible - students may bring their own fabrics or receive help in-store choosing colours and prints that work well for this pattern. The Lone Star pattern is a free and will be provided to all registered students.
Completion of the quilt top will depend on individual sewing speed and homework completed between sessions, but the goal is to have the quilt top finished by the end of the third class.
This class is ideal for quilters looking to expand their skills and tackle a bold, eye-catching project with confidence.
